Jungheinrich has launched its next-generation EFG MB and EFG MC electric counterbalance forklifts across Asia-Pacific, covering load capacities from 1.6 to three tonnes.

The new EFG M series is available to order with lead-acid or lithium-ion batteries and a choice of performance, safety, comfort and digital features.

It is designed for applications including warehousing, manufacturing, distribution, retail, pharmaceuticals and general industry.

The three-wheel EFG MB covers load capacities from 1.6 to two tonnes and is designed for manoeuvrability in confined spaces.

The four-wheel EFG MC covers capacities from two to three tonnes, providing greater stability for indoor and outdoor transport and stacking work.

Both series offer lift heights of up to 6500mm.

Configurable for different operations

Customers can configure performance, battery technology, controls, operator features and safety systems to suit their workloads and operating environments.

Jungheinrich Qingpu Plant managing director Lisa Jing Xue says the range was developed following extensive customer research.

“Different operations have different requirements. With the EFG M series, customers can configure the truck around their application, workload and operators – whether they need a manoeuvrable truck for confined warehouse spaces or a stable, powerful truck for demanding transport and stacking work,” Xue says.

“Customers can invest in the performance required today and add further capabilities where the application demands them.”

Two performance packages are available.

EfficiencyPLUS balances performance and energy consumption for general materials handling, while drive&liftPLUS provides higher driving and lifting performance for high-throughput operations.

The drive&liftPLUS package is standard on models with load capacities between 2.5 and three tonnes.

Battery and energy options

Battery capacities range from 346Ah to 690Ah, allowing operators to select an energy system suited to their utilisation levels and shift patterns.

Jungheinrich says energy recovery during braking of up to 30% can extend operating time and reduce energy costs per shift.

Lithium-ion models are supported by the company’s Li-ion Guarantee Plus, providing up to five years of performance assurance.

Operators can choose manual hydraulic levers or optional fingertip controls, along with a standard two-inch display or optional four-inch display.

A slim B-pillar, protected glass roof and compact mast profiles are designed to improve visibility of loads and the surrounding operating area.

CurveCONTROL is standard on the EFG MC and automatically reduces the forklift’s speed while cornering. Additional assistance and lighting systems are available as options.

Telematics included as standard

Integrated telematics is standard across the range and connects with Jungheinrich Fleet Management.

The system provides fleet data from the first day of operation, supporting utilisation analysis, maintenance planning, pre-operational checks and vehicle replacement decisions.

Jungheinrich APAC senior director of customer service Madhukar Kaissary says the forklifts are backed by the company’s regional support network.

“Every EFG M truck is backed by Jungheinrich’s global team of more than 6100 trained customer service technicians, supported by genuine Jungheinrich parts and product-specific expertise,” Kaissary says.

“Because the series uses proven Jungheinrich components and integrated truck data, we can support faster parts supply and more effective maintenance planning.”

The EFG M series forms the configurable core of Jungheinrich’s regional electric counterbalance range, sitting alongside AntOn by Jungheinrich for value-focused applications and the FalcOn platform for future heavy-duty electric materials handling.
