The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) says it will close the Northern Gateway toll road (SH1 between the Silverdale interchange and Puhoi) in both directions during the night of Monday 17 August 2015.
The toll road and twin tunnels will be unavailable while the work is carried out between 8.00pm on August 17 and 5.00am August 18.
The following detours will be in place during the closure:
Hibiscus Coast (previously known as SH17) between Puhoi and the Silverdale interchange, in both directions. The agency says that journeys will take 15 minutes longer to complete during the detour.
This work is part of NZTA’s maintenance programme to ensure the safety of the Johnstone’s Hill tunnels and the toll road.
