Former IVECO New Zealand dealer principal Barry Woods has been appointed head of customer services at IVECO Trucks Australia as the company strengthens its focus on customer support and aftersales operations.

Woods spent the past five years leading IVECO New Zealand, where he oversaw sales, service, parts support and customer service across the business.

The appointment is one of two senior leadership changes recently announced by IVECO Trucks Australia, with James Johnson also promoted to the role of national manager of fleet.

IVECO Trucks Australia managing director Glen Dyer says Woods’ experience across all aspects of the business makes him well suited to lead the company’s customer services function.

“Barry brings a wealth of leadership experience along with strong expertise on customer quality and experience, making him an ideal fit to guide the aftersales team and to drive continuity while further developing efficiencies across our parts and service operations,” Dyer says.

James Johnson has been promoted to the role of IVECO Trucks Australia national fleet manager.

The head of customer services role is responsible for overseeing aftersales operations including service, parts and customer support, an area IVECO says is critical to ensuring customers enjoy a productive ownership experience.

Johnson, who previously served as light commercial retail and fleet sales national manager, will now oversee fleet sales across the full IVECO range, from light commercial vehicles through to heavy-duty trucks and off-road models.

“Since beginning with us in 2024, James has had a positive impact on our team and customers thanks to his strong understanding and passion for the fleet segment,” Dyer says.

“His combination of leadership skills, strategic thinking and deep commitment to driving sales growth and customer satisfaction makes him a fantastic advocate of the IVECO brand.”

The appointments come as IVECO continues a product renewal programme that has recently included the launch of its latest Eurocargo medium-duty range and updated Daily van and cab chassis models, with further product introductions planned.
