Iveco Trucks New Zealand is enjoying its best sales year yet in New Zealand according to its general manager Ian Walker, and there is yet more to come as the brand expands its sales force and invests in a new Auckland dealership.

The European truck brand has beefed up the national dealer network, introduced new vehicles and new service and warranty programmes, as well as providing more finance options.

In the first nine months of 2016, Iveco New Zealand sold 67% more vans and trucks than the same period last year, making it the fastest growing brand in the country.

September registrations released by the MIA saw Iveco commercial vehicles up 400% month on month compared to 2015.

“The results for the brand have been very encouraging, and show that we are giving customers what they want,” says Walker.

“In the last 18 months, Iveco has focused its product offering on being what the Kiwi van and truck buyer required. We are completely renewing our entire product offering,” he says.

Walker says the Iveco products sourced from Europe and Australia provide a greater range of choice for Kiwi transport operators.

“The new addition to our line-up is the Trakker 6×4 bulk cartage truck that we will launch in the next few weeks and proudly display at T.H.E. EXPO 2017 in Hamilton,” says Walker

According to Walker, the New Daily van and cab/chassis is enjoying great success in the 3.5 tonne GVM market to both retail and fleet operators.

Iveco is expanding and strengthening its New Zealand dealer network to be closer to the customer and raise the level of sales and service support.

It has also introduced several new packages specifically developed for Iveco customers, such as free servicing on Daily, competitive repair and maintenance programmes on all trucks, as well as Iveco assist roadside assistance and finance packages.

Iveco has also expanded its sales force and will shortly be announcing a multi-million dollar investment into a new location in Auckland.

“We would soon be rolling phase two of our dealer network programme including brand signage around the country,” says Walker.

“Iveco Trucks New Zealand is here for the long haul and operators will see a lot more of our vehicles on our roads,” he says.
