The general manager of Isuzu Utes has departed the company, and is heading off to the new Fiat Chrysler New Zealand.
A letter emailed yesterday (Tuesday) from Isuzu Utes New Zealand managing director, Howard Spencer, advised that general manager Greg MacDonald had taken up a job with a competitor.
The Isuzu Utes business is distinct from the Isuzu trucks business, and is owned by Giltrap and Spencer family interests.
“We appreciate the input Greg gas given to the business and have been taken by surprise by his decision to accept another position just when the business reaches the cusp of building solid momentum and extraordinary market share growth,” Spencer notes.
“As Greg has gone to a competitor brand we felt the need to protect the brand and its IP so he has left us immediately today (Monday).”
MacDonald told AutoTalk that he was off to the new distributor, but was unable to say more. He previously worked for Ateco, owned by FCNZ part owner Neville Crichton.
Michelle Pepperell has taken over as Isuzu Utes general manager until a permanent replacement is found.
