Isuzu Trucks New Zealand has released details of the new N Series range featuring a suite of new safety features.
Many of the features were once the domain of cars and European trucks but have made their way through the range and into the light-duty models.
This includes electronic vehicle stability control (EVSC), advance emergency brake system (AEBS), distance warning system (DWS), lane departure warning system (LDWS) and hill start assist on some models.
“Isuzu N Series trucks have a reputation for offering an impressive combination of clean yet powerful fuel efficient engines, along with intelligent design, delivering a comprehensive package for operators,” Isuzu Trucks NZ general manager Dave Ballantyne says.
“They are renowned for all-round performance, driveability, comfort and reliability. Now, with the addition of an array of new safety features, the Isuzu N Series delivers on a range of ‘must have’ requirements demanded not only by corporate fleets but also smaller owner-operators.
“We have listened to these requests from our customers and are pleased to deliver this updated new model from the third quarter this year.
“Typically, light-duty truck drivers operate in urban environments where there is significantly more stop-start traffic and all-round congestion.

“With the addition of more safety features in this type of application, they are well equipped to help reduce the risk of collisions occurring,” Ballantyne says.
The performance capability of N Series has also been enhanced, with the new NMR model receiving a six-speed manual transmission and matching rear-axle ratio, improving gradeability and fuel consumption.
Higher rated tyres (205/85R16) provide extra front axle capacity of 210kg and additional rear axle capacity of 380Kg respectively.
The enhancements are rounded out with the introduction of a new interior colour and updated headlights complete with LED low-beam lights, which deliver a wider, brighter and deeper beam compared with Halogen lights.
“This new N Series range builds on the model’s impressive heritage with updates firmly focused on safety. These enhancements stand the new model in good stead and for which drivers will be thankful for if and when required,” Ballantyne says.
“The new N Series is loaded with features, there is a model to suit any number of applications with various engines, transmissions and wheelbases – plus the availability of narrow, standard and crew versions to cater for different requirements.
“With an unequalled number of variants available, it really is the smart choice in light-duty trucks,” he says.
