InMotion Group brands ManaBus.Com and nakedbus.com are opening up more express and overnight routes, and also increasing the frequency of popular routes.
ManaBus.com and nakedbus.com CEO, Sheryll Otway says that both companies have been tracking steady patronage increases in the North Island.
ManaBus.com will also introduce some new buses to its fleet, signalling a $9 million commitment to the growing market.
Key changes include the addition of a second express service between Auckland and Wellington (and vice-versa) each day from 8 am, dropping passengers at their chosen destination within 10 hours.
A further Napier extension sees two journeys per day reaching Wellington in five hours.
A report released by Statistics New Zealand indicates that a growing portion of Auckland CBD’s 596,000 workers lives in both the Waikato District (1,530) or Kaipara region (561), so more coach services north and south of Auckland to both Hamilton and Whangarei will be welcomed by these people says InMotion Group.
Commuters and day-trippers alike will be serviced by 12 daily journeys (each way) enabling two-hour trips from Hamilton to Auckland.
Access to Auckland has also been opened up with a daily early morning service from Whangarei to the CBD and a 7:45 pm Nightrider service from Auckland via Whangarei and right through to Paihia.
In the South Island, nakedbus.com is launching a new overnight service on Friday and Sunday nights from Christchurch to Queenstown (and vice-versa).
The extended timetable includes fares that can be booked up until April 2016, with some routes offering $1 deals for voyagers planning itineraries well in advance.
