CablePrice is on a nationwide apprenticeship drive to triple the number of trainees it takes on over the next 12 months.
Ross Wallace, CablePrice national training manager, says: “We have re-engineered our apprentice programme this year and have launched a new CablePrice cadets programme.
“This is a bi-annual, nationwide recruitment drive to find entry level diesel mechanics with talent and a can-do attitude to join our strong network of 360+ employees.
“We take training seriously and it all begins with our apprentices. Part of this commitment is our recent investment in a new purpose built, state-of-the-art training centre in Wellington.
“We invest a lot of time and knowledge into our future technicians to make sure they have the skills and expertise available to keep our industry moving.”
The CablePrice cadet programme provides an opportunity for entry-level mechanics to start their career as a ‘heavy equipment’ or ‘commercial vehicle technician’.
This is a high quality, structured apprenticeship programme with truckloads of support, hands on action, offering regular opportunities to up-skill, and a choice of career paths to choose from.
After completing the interviews and assessments, successful candidates will undergo an intense induction week and subsequent training modules to ensure they are well prepared for what lies ahead, and before they are distributed to work in modern facilities throughout the nationwide CablePrice network.
Cadets have the opportunity to learn from the best and work with a number of world renowned brands including, Hitachi, Scania, John Deere and Bell.
Successful completion of the CablePrice apprenticeship programme lead cadets to a nationally recognised qualification and the beginning of what would be rewarding careers.
The end result is a nationwide network of well-trained, highly-skilled technicians, dedicated to providing customers with the highest quality of service in the industry.
