Hitachi Zaxis-5 excavators prove popular

CablePrice has found very good feedback from new owners of the Zaxis-5 excavator from Hitachi’s new range of construction and quarry machines.

The first ZX200-5 went into service with Taylor’s Contracting in Nelson late last year, and has already clocked up over 1000 hours. Several more new owners have since taken delivery of their ZX-5’s and CablePrice says that they are equally happy with their machines.

The Zaxis-5 is powered by a 125kW diesel and has an operating weight of up to 21,500kg depending on sub model and an ISO heaped bucket volume of 1.20m cubed.

New ZAXIS can reduce fuel consumption by 9%, compared to the precedent ZX200-3/ZX200-3F family, thanks to the HIOS III hydraulic system and engine control system – thereby reducing CO2 emissions.

CablePrice will be using the Fieldays at Hamilton this week as the launch pad for the Zaxis-5 range. Visitors will be able to take a close look at three ZX-5 medium excavators – the ZX200LC-5, ZX240LC-5 and ZX350LCH-5.

The Fieldays will be followed by a nation-wide ‘road show’ where owners and operators will have the opportunity to evaluate the new features in a working environment and experience how they suit the requirements of New Zealand construction and quarry operations.

Many new design features and additions have enhanced the efficiency and performance of the new machines.

For heavy duty applications such as quarry, mining and demolition, the H & K models offer strengthened front attachments and track frames, guarding and breaker piping as well as full length track guards.

Three more ZX-5 models will be released later in the year – the ZX250L-5, ZX290L-5 and ZX400L-5, all with size up high and wide undercarriages and factory-built specifications suitable for forestry work.
