Mike Evans and Wayne Cryer were declared the winners of the Class 4/5 truck licence packages which, valued at $1000, include logbook theory and practical training and assessment through AMS Group.

Evans, who has never won anything before, exclaimed that winning on June 20 ‘has made my year’. He says he is looking forward to upgrading his Class 4 licence and help his five-year-old son follow his dream into trucking like his father and grandfather.

Cryer, Hino’s July 4 licence upgrade winner, helps his father run the family business in Puriri, near Thames. His interest in growing the business by adding a truck and trailer to his six-wheeler truck is now possible after winning the Class 5 licence package.

Cryer will undertake his Class 5 course in Hamilton while Evans will be presented his Class 5 package in the coming weeks. The first winner, Travis Quin, has received his Class 2 licence in Palmerston North and is currently undergoing his six-month stand-down period before attempting his Class 4.
