After three years as chief executive of New Zealand heavy equipment distributor TDX, Colm Hamrogue has announced his resignation.
He says his decision to step down is driven by personal circumstances, as he wishes to return to his homeland of Ireland with his wife and young daughter.
TDX board chair Greg Campbell thanked Hamrogue on behalf of the board, shareholders, suppliers, partners, staff, and other stakeholders for his significant contribution over the past three years.
“Colm has led the company through an eventful and uncertain period, demonstrating strong leadership and guiding the team through various challenges. Colm had a great ability to connect with people across the business,” Campbell says.
Under Hamrogue’s tenure, TDX has maintained its market leadership position within the heavy equipment industry.
Other notable achievements during his time as chief executive include the launch of TDX’s sister company, LDX, securing the distributorship for Linde Material Handling Equipment in New Zealand. TDX also became a carbon reduce certified member through the Toitū programme and was also recognised as a Deloitte NZ Best Managed Company in 2023.
“While we are disappointed to see him go, the board understands and respects Colm’s desire to reunite with family and friends in Ireland.
“He will be deeply missed by the entire TDX family, and we wish him all the very best in his future endeavours,” Campbell says.
The board, along with Hamrogue, is currently working through the details of his departure and the transition plan.
“We will keep all stakeholders informed as we move toward appointing a new permanent chief executive,” Campbell says.
