SAM and Synergy workshop software systems are now used by 80% of New Zealand companies in the service and repair workshop market, which use specialist motor industry software systems.
Almost 50% of all companies in the independent service and repair workshop market now use SAM or Synergy software.
SAM, which is part of the TSI Group of IT companies, serving the auto industry, bought Christchurch-based Synergy Business Solutions in February this year.
All of Synergy’s Christchurch staff were retained as part of the sale, as was its premises in Addington.
This gives the TSI Group of companies – including Systime and Orion – a strong South Island presence for the first time.
SAM has also experienced a spike in the interest of Australian workshops in its software this year, and is planning to have its first resident Australian staff employed in 2013.
SAM has close to 3000 workshop software and dealer management system (Orion) clients throughout New Zealand, Australia, the Pacific and Asia – but all Australian sales, implementations, training and support is carried out by NZ staff.
The overseas expansion comes on the back of continuing growth and popularity of both the SAM and Orion systems in the automotive markets, competing head on with Australian-sourced business software via the distributorship of the Autoline dealer management system.
