Commercial transport supplier Gough TWL has opened a new Auckland site in Silverdale, featuring new technology to meet customer demand.
The 670 square metre facility features significant improvements, not just in size, but in ability to service transport operators, Gough Group transport general manager Aaron Smith says.
“This development is much more than a new building, we’re looking to drive some major and far-reaching enhancements to what we do throughout the country.
“For some time, we’ve been doing the hard yards getting to understand our customer’s fleets in much greater detail than ever before.
To drive this, we’ve invested in new technology so that our stocked lines are tailored to our local customers.
The branch will also play a massive role in team development and training.
“Silverdale will lead with a strong focus on stocking for heavy trailer parts, particularly wheel-end, which is the cornerstone of TWL as a business,” Smith says.
Gough Group business improvement manager Mike Brears says speaking to local fleets has helped with stocking parts requirements.
“We are keen to continue this learning and keep focus on right stock in our new location.
“This new site is the benchmark for focus on heavy transport aftermarket business for TWL; we have a proud history in the industry and want to ensure we focus on this part of the business which we are known for first and foremost,” Brears says.
Branch manager Paul Bayer is leading the new site and says it takes a fresh approach to merchandising, and includes a hospitality area with coffee for visitors.
“At the heart of everything we do is providing a faster, smarter service to our customers so they can get on with their business,” Bayer says.
There are still a couple of job vacancies at the site which will be staffed by four internals and two reps.
The facility is located about 30 kilometres north of central Auckland and will play a key role in supporting customers north and west of the city.
It will also work closely with TWL teams in Whangarei, Penrose and Wiri.
