Fieldays organisers are expecting strong attendance as the annual agricultural event gets under way at Mystery Creek tomorrow, with accommodation across the Waikato region largely booked out and favourable weather forecast for the four-day event.
More than 1,115 exhibitors will showcase products and services across 1,335 sites, with visitors set to explore the latest developments in agriculture, transport, machinery and rural technology.
New Zealand National Fieldays Society general manager commercial and marketing Brett Beagley says there will be something for everyone at this year’s event.
“There is something for everyone, whether you’re here to learn, watch, relax, or just have a good look around, there’s plenty to get stuck into,” Beagley says.
Among the attractions is the Fieldays Innovation Hub, which will host the Fieldays Innovation Awards with Amazon Web Services. Visitors will also be able to attend sessions at the Rural Advocacy Hub and Fieldays Tent Talks, presented in association with the University of Waikato.
Popular events returning this year include the Fieldays Tractor Pull, the Excavator Competition and the Fencing Competition.
The event will also feature the Hauora Taiwhenua Health & Wellbeing Hub, while the Creative Space will showcase rural-themed artwork, including work by artist David Henshaw.
Beagley encouraged visitors to plan ahead and make use of transport options available to the event.
“A bit of planning will go a long way. Have a think about how you’re getting here before you set off, check out our transport options, including the free buses, give yourself a bit of extra time, and use the NZTA Journey Planner.”
He says visitors can also use the Fieldays app to help navigate the site and plan their visit.
With fine winter weather forecast and a full exhibitor line-up, organisers are expecting another busy year for the Southern Hemisphere’s largest agricultural event.
“Good weather, a full site, and plenty happening, it’s lining up to be a great few days,” Beagley says.
Fieldays runs from June 11-14 at Mystery Creek near Hamilton.
