Transport technology services company EROAD has released its quarterly update on unit sales with the Unites States showing the strongest growth.

The company saw 6% quarter growth with 5775 contracted units added from December to March 31, 2019.

A total 96,390 contracted units were recorded in March, up 24% compared to the same period last year.

Australia and New Zealand markets were up 4% in the quarter with 2890 units added and a total of 71,446, up 19% compared to the same period last year.

The North America market was up 13% in the quarter with 2885 units added and a total of 24,944, up 40% compared to the same period last year.

EROAD expects future growth to increase on the level experienced during FY19 with new sales to small and medium business customers remaining solid.

The company says a significant addressable market remains in both heavy and light commercial vehicles across New Zealand, North America and Australia.

Net quarter growth in New Zealand was largely in-line with the preceding quarters and “reflects continuing solid growth in sales to small to medium business customers”, the company says.

A new relaunch in the Australian market meant it “did not provide a meaningful contribution to unit growth in FY19, reflecting the expected lag between launch and contracting of sales”.

“The decision to re-enter the Australian market has been validated by a strong sales pipeline that will be reflected during FY20,” the company says.

North America was bolstered in Q4 by the start of units being rolled out to its first US enterprise customer (still to be named). Deployment under this contract has commenced, although most of the units will be rolled out during the first half of FY20.
