AUS-Product-Ehubo-Gen2The NZ Transport Agency has approved EROADs second-generation Ehubo2 as an electronic distance recorder (EDR), ahead of its commercial release on May 1, 2016.

The approval means that New Zealand transport operators will be able to source an all-in-one in-cab device that supports multiple driver-centric applications, says EROAD.

The Ehubo2 has a colour touchscreen display that delivers real-time in-cab driver feedback, EROAD’s driver messaging service, EZmessage, and Driver ID.

EROAD CEO Steven Newman thanked the Transport Agency for continually supporting innovation within the transport industry.

The company will provide customers with a choice of their preferred EDR by continuing to offer the Ehubo1. More than 30,000 heavy and light vehicles in New Zealand continue to run this first generation device.

The Ehubo2 has undergone rigorous product testing and validation in New Zealand, Australia, and the USA, covering more than 200 million kilometres. EROAD says it is committing to ensuring the privacy and accuracy of all customer data.

The Ehubo2 is exceeding reliability, precision and security requirements, and it is the only Electronic Distance Recorder in the world to meet international security standards including FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards) 140-2 Level 3, and Common Criteria EAL2+ ALC_FLR.1 says EROAD.

EROAD is scheduling the commercial release of Ehubo2 for the New Zealand market on May 1.
