EROAD has appointed David Leach as its new chief executive officer, with the former Cin7 boss set to take up the role on October 12.
Leach, who is currently chief executive of cloud-based insurance software company JAVLN, succeeds executive chair John Scott, who will remain in the role until Leach’s arrival to provide leadership continuity.
Scott says Leach was selected following a comprehensive recruitment process.
“David is the right leader for EROAD as we move from reset to execution,” says Scott.
“He has a proven track record of scaling software businesses, building high-performing teams and delivering disciplined growth.”
Scott says Leach grew annual recurring revenue at Cin7 more than fivefold to more than NZ$110 million while significantly improving profitability and helping build a global platform serving more than 8000 customers across more than 100 countries.
“He brings exactly the combination of global SaaS scale-up experience, commercial discipline and technology leadership that EROAD needs to execute on its strategy.”
Scott says EROAD has spent the past year strengthening its foundations by reshaping its board and leadership team, resetting its operating model and sharpening its customer focus.
“David is the final appointment to that leadership team. The Board is confident he has the experience, commercial judgement and operational discipline needed to lead EROAD’s next phase.”
Leach says he is looking forward to leading the transport technology company through its next stage of growth.
“Building on its past success, EROAD has an opportunity to lead the world in connected and smarter transportation,” says Leach.
“I am excited to join the team and work with the Board, leadership team and our customers to build EROAD’s AI-native platform, accelerate growth, and create long-term value.
“My focus will be on improving customer outcomes, strengthening execution and ensuring we invest our time and capital in the areas that produce the highest returns for customers and shareholders.”
Leach has more than 20 years’ experience building, scaling and transforming technology businesses serving global markets. Before joining JAVLN, he was chief executive and executive director of inventory management software company Cin7.
He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Engineering, Honours) from the University of Sydney and is chair of ArchiPro.
Under the terms of his appointment, Leach will receive a base salary of $595,000 a year. He will also be eligible for a short-term incentive with a target of 33% of his base salary and a long-term incentive with a target of 100% of his base salary, both subject to performance conditions.
