Z Energy stations in Wellington are trialling a New Zealand Post parcel redirection service which is also available through Countdown Supermarkets.

New Zealand Post and its CourierPost arm are trying to reduce the number of missed deliveries by giving customers the option to have the parcel left at their home address or redirected to another location.

Currently, parcels can be redirected to 11 Countdown stores in Auckland and six Z stations in Wellington.

The ‘Parcel Leave’ option means a parcel can be left at a customer’s address even if they’re not home to sign for it, to be left in an agreed place at the address.

The ‘Parcel Redirect’ option allows the redirection of the customers parcel to some New Zealand Post retailers and CourierPost depots, as well as a growing list of Countdown supermarkets.

Over the next month, collection locations will be extended to include an additional 27 Countdown stores in Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Wellington, Christchurch, and Dunedin.
