Dealers and customers enjoy unique Triton experience

Mitsubishi Motors New Zealand (MMNZ) took a different approach to the launch of its new Triton by inviting more than 300 customers and dealers to an off-road event on Wellington’s rugged south coast.

MMNZ’s ‘Triton Experience’ provided the opportunity for attendees to put Triton’s enhanced 4WD system through its paces and test the limits of its new Off-road mode.

“Events like this are key in providing opportunities to showcase Triton’s ability to handle New Zealand’s toughest terrain – nothing equates to getting behind the wheel of a vehicle to really see what it can do,” says MMNZ marketing and corporate affairs head Reece Congdon.

He says the Triton Experience event saw an overwhelmingly positive reaction from the participants.

“More and more Kiwis recognise the quality and value Triton offers,” says Congdon.

“The performance and safety upgrades delivered at a sharp price make Triton the most compelling package in the ute segment. The arrival of the new-look Triton has no doubt boosted sales, contributing to our biggest January in more than 30 years.”

MMNZ took 1248 sales and 9.3% total market share, driving the brand into third position overall.

“Our next goal is to secure third place in the market for the financial year,” says Congdon. “This result suggests we are heading firmly in the right direction.”

Triton is now on sale at dealerships around the country and its January result bodes well for MM NZ’s 25% sales growth target.
