A tough winter in the construction market has had a negative effect on recruitment company AWF Madison’s first half result.

Net profit after tax to September 30 2017 was $3.4 million, 13% down on the previous financial year, Businessdesk reports

Blue collar recruiter AWF was impacted by poor weather conditions.

However, group revenue rose by 20% to $143.1 million, with the AWF result offset by a strong performance from IT recruiter Absolute IT.

AWF Madison chief executive Simon Bennett says the future is positive in the long-term.

“Despite a disappointing trading performance from AWF, the strength of our cash generation and current activity levels give us confidence we will deliver a good financial performance for the full March 2018 year.” Bennett says.
