Auckland Transport is set to debate the draft Regional Land Transport Programme (RLTP) on Wednesday.

Around 18,000 groups and individuals submitted feedback on the plan which will see the Government and Auckland Council agree on a transport priority for the city.

The programme is supported by $28 billion in funding over the next 10 years.

Do you think we have correctly identified the most important transport challenges facing Auckland?

AT chairman Dr Lester Levy says the draft RLTP outlines priorities where Auckland Council, the Government and Auckland Transport are fully aligned.

A public consultation process was undertaken in May and submitters were asked for feedback on key areas including safety, congestion, decreases in accessibility, environmental impact and supporting growth in the region.

More than 10,000 submitters agreed the correct key areas were being identified in the plan.

More than 80% of submitters agreed overall to specific areas of work which needed investment such as public transport, network optimisation and safety.

The draft document to be considered by the AT board also outlines the timing of capital work over the next 10 years.
