Go Bus Transport is investing $11 million in 27 new low-emission buses for its Christchurch urban passenger fleet as part of a strategy to have the youngest national fleet and to improve bus patronage.
The new buses, with air conditioning as standard, will replace older vehicles in the company’s existing fleet in the region, and Go Bus plans for them to operate on Christchurch routes by the end of October.
“The new buses will also incorporate telematics technology capable of monitoring speed, cornering and braking to provide real time feedback to drivers in an effort to further improve the quality of our passengers’ experiences,” says Go Bus managing director Calum Haslop
The 27 new vehicles are in addition to the 17 buses Go Bus has already rolled out across its Christchurch routes earlier this year.
