Major tyre brand Bridgestone has secured a deal with the National Road Carriers Association, giving it key supplier status.
Establishing commercial arrangements to gain the best deals for its members is part of the associations’ work.
David Aitken, National Road Carriers chief executive, says the association is always on the hunt for deals.
“We’re always looking for quality partnerships that bring benefits to our members,” Aitken says. “The purpose of the key supplier status is to provide tyre management solutions that offer optimum productivity and profitability at minimum market competitive costs while ensuring maximum safety at all times.
“This will lead to minimal downtime due to tyre delays.”
National Road Carriers members are entitled to exclusive rates for Bridgestone and Bandag tyres and retreads for trucks and light vehicles, exclusive rates on servicing, and other fleet services.
Geoff Brain, the commercial sales manager for Bridgestone New Zealand, was very pleased with the deal.
“We’re delighted to have this relationship with National Road Carriers, as it represents a large part of the transport sector and the agreement will benefit both parties,” says Brain.
