In October, Bridgestone opened a purpose-built commercial tyre centre in the northern Timaru suburb of Washdyke, at 417 Old North Road.
The new Bridgestone Tyre Centre store manager Peter Pitcaithly is also a Rotarian, who has 30 years of experience with the Firestone brand, 12 of which in the Timaru area.
“The team and I are very excited about the new store that is much closer to the industrial heart of Timaru,” says Pitcaithly.
“This allows faster response times and closer proximity to customers coming to us. For those people who need our assistance in the field, we have two fleet service vehicles that will respond to customers’ calls for service,” says Pitcaithly.
Bridgestone commercial national stores manager Jeremy Macintosh says the purpose-built store is far more customer and staff friendly.
“Previously staff had to work outside on a forecourt that was not completely level,” says Macintosh.
“Now we have a full level drive through for large trucks and trailers as well as the equipment and experience to tackle any tyre related job.”
Mackintosh says that the new store that is 489 square Metres has also been designed to align closely with Bridgestone’s focus on health and safety, service quality and an optimised working environment for its employees.
“With this redevelopment Bridgestone is investing in the long-term future of our industry and the industries we support in the greater Canterbury region,” he says.
