After the New Zealand Herald had obtained some details of the National Party’s $2.6 billion election transport package for Auckland, it says transport minister Simon Bridges was forced to confirm those details last night.
The Herald is reporting that National’s package provides $855 million for the Mill Road highway from Manukau to Drury, $835 million for the Northwestern busway, $615m for the Ameti project, $130m to electrify the rail to Pukekohe, as well as $100m for a third rail line.
According to the Herald, Bridges reckons all the projects barring the Mill Road Highway will be built and finished in the next ten years.
