newsimage-1-bp_(1)BP decreased prices across its national company-owned network today, removing 3 cents per litre from diesel and 2 cents per litre from petrol.

BP communications manager Shelley Brady says decreases in refined product costs have enabled BP to pass through the lower prices today.

“The New Zealand dollar has also strengthened slightly to deliver us with some additional cost relief, but the market is relatively unpredictable, so we are continuing to watch this very carefully,” she says.

“Because we purchase the refined product in US dollars, any declines in the Kiwi dollar can quickly offset the cost improvements we are currently seeing,” says Brady.

BP national prices as 5 September 2016 are 118.9 cents per litre for BP Ultimate diesel, 187.9 cents a litre for 91 unleaded, 196.9 cents per litre for 95 unleaded, and 204.9 cents per litre for Ultimate 98.
