Black is where it’s at for popular stainless steel accessories for utes and SUVs.
Until now, accessories such a nudge bars, side steps,sports bars and cab protectors have mostly been brightly polished, but there is a noticeable trend towards having them painted black.
“We’ve seen an increase in demand for black powder-coated accessories from our customers in recent times and we have increased the range of product on offer in oder to meet it,” says John Frear, general manager of sales and marketing for Best Bars Limited.
The extended use of utes and SUVs – in road transport – has seen an increase in the number of owners wishing to personalise their vehicle, so they stand out from the crowd.
Nudge bars, sports bars and other accessory bars have always been popular as both functional and aesthetic additions, but we are definitely seeing a trend for more drivers looking to further customise them with a powder-coated finish, as an alternative to highly polished stainless steel.”
Black is certainly the most frequently requested colour, but Frear says Best Bars is keeping an open mind towards other colours in both floss and matt finishes and will look to canvass customers to see if demand will spared beyond the black option.
The powder-voting is applied over the stainless steel substrate, thereby ensuring the products retain the durability that comes with using such high quality materials.
