More than 300 new trucks over 3500kg were landed in New Zealand last month – easily the highest monthly total this year.
It is the first time in 2013 that new truck arrivals topped the 300 mark, the previous best monthly total being the 250 trucks that arrived in both July and August.
With 314 new trucks over 3500kg landed in October, the tally for the year so far stands at 2231.
While new truck arrivals had their biggest month of the year, used trucks over 3500kg had their fifth lowest monthly total with only 67 used trucks imported.
However, the total for the year-to-date stands at 1360 used truck arrivals, showing that the used import side of the industry is now well recovered from the GFC and government regulations.
