Freight operator Big Chill Distribution has marked a special milestone with the completion of its state-of-the-art cold store facility at Ruakura Superhub.
A karakia/blessing was held at the 13,000-sqaure-metre facility on October 11 for the occasion.
The site will employ around 50 people and takes the company’s nationwide roster of depots to 10.
Big Chill, owned by NZX-listed Freightways, is one of the first movers for the 35-hectare industrial precinct in the overall 92ha stage one of the freight and logistics hub located on the eastern boundary of Hamilton.
Big Chill has signed a long-term lease with rights of renewal with project developer Tainui Group Holdings.
