Bascik Transport has acquired a shareholding in Hog Haulage, strengthening the relationship between the two New Zealand family-owned freight businesses.
Bascik Transport, based in Christchurch, says the partnership will allow both companies to draw on their combined experience, resources and industry knowledge.
“This investment represents an exciting step forward for both companies and provides an opportunity to build on the strong working relationship already established between Hog Haulage and Bascik Transport,” the company says.
Hog Haulage, based in Taupo, will continue operating under its existing name and management, with no changes announced to its day-to-day services.
“As part of this next chapter, Hog Haulage is committed to maintaining and growing both its flatdeck and curtain side fleet, ensuring we continue to have the capacity and capability to meet the needs of our customers.
“We see significant opportunities for growth across both areas of the business and are committed to investing in the fleet, people and future,” Bascik Transport says.
It says the investment is intended to expand Hog Haulage’s capacity and capabilities while maintaining its focus on customers, drivers and service standards.
Last year, Bascik Transport confirmed a major expansion strategy to establish a countrywide freight network following its acquisition of Wellington-based Jets Transport.
