The brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB) season is about to start, but Autohub is working with Jevic to ensure its vehicle exports process runs as smoothly as possible.
Jevic provides Autohub with all pre-export services, including heat treatment which is a new Import Health Standard requirement put in place by the Ministry for Primary Industries.
“All going well, there should be little or no hold-ups in our service barring perhaps a few ‘teething issues’ at first as this is a new process and as always, unforeseen issues may arise,” Autohub says in its latest update to customers.
The BMSB Treatment Service price for all vehicles processed through Jevic’s approved treatments shipped from September 1 2018 until April 30 2019 is $225 for all driveable vehicles up to 3000kgs GVM.
That’s typically cars, vans and SUVs, while the fee for vehicles over 3000kgs GVM will be advised on a case-by-case basis.
Autohub says it plans on passing on the BMSB surcharge to traders, but is holding off any on any further cost increases, like increased charges from the shipping lines, for the moment.
It will review the situation once all new shipping rates are disclosed.
