Ports of Auckland has won the ‘Best Seaport in Oceania’ title for the third consecutive year.
It claimed the prize at the Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain (AFLAS) Awards.
Ports of Auckland chief executive Tony Gibson says he’s thrilled the team’s efforts have once again been recognised..
“Auckland has a port company of which it can be proud, and that has been recognised internationally.
“We run one of the most efficient port operations in the Southern Hemisphere. We are leading technological change in our industry and will soon be the first automated port in New Zealand. We aim to become New Zealand’s most sustainable port, eliminating carbon emissions by 2040 and driving Auckland’s sustainable growth.”
Ports of Auckland competed against the ports of Brisbane, Melbourne and Guam.
The AFLAS Awards are voted for by actual service users, not a panel of judges.
