A new Auckland Airport logistics centre is set to get underway for New Zealand’s biggest supermarket chain.

A 65,000 sq m distribution and support centre is to be developed at The Landing Business Park and will be leased to Foodstuffs North Island. It is set for completion by 2020.

It will be a 5-star, green-rated facility situated in landscaped and park-like surroundings.

Auckland Airport has recently completed other developments in the area that accommodate the Ministry for Primary Industries, Fonterra, Rohlig Logistics, Agility Logistics, Yusen Logistics and Eden Office.

Airport property general manager Mark Thomson says the vision is to create a “premium business location” which attracts “quality long-term tenants”.

“We are delighted to welcome Foodstuffs North Island to The Landing Business Park.

“Foodstuffs is a great Kiwi success story and we are thrilled to be partnering with them on this project,” he says.
