zCardZ Energy has sent an email to 16 business customers apologising for a pricing error that charged some of them too much for fuel.

According to Stuff, the petrol retailer admitted it had made a mistake “…given our commitment to being straight up, we want to let you know what’s happened and, most importantly, what we’ve done to fix it”.

The email sent says that Z Energy had accidentally sent incorrect price advice for the week of Wednesday 16 to Tuesday 22 December.

“We’ve now corrected the pricing, and you’ll receive your correct weekly price advice shortly,” said the email.

Z Energy spokesman Jonathan Hill told Stuff a previous price entered into the system rather than the new one.

“With prices dropping recently, this meant there was a very slight overcharge for some customers,” says Hills.

According to Stuff, Z Energy admitted it has faced “recent challenges” caused by updating the Z Card online system that customers use to manage their fuel cards and run reports.

“As part of these changes, a small number of customers with tailored account set-up have been inconvenienced by their setup not showing up in the refreshed Z Card online system,” says Hill.
