AdvanceQuip New Zealand has been appointed a local distributor for global construction equipment manufacturer XCMG.
The Chinese brand is the world’s third largest heavy equipment manufacturer and will allow AdvanceQuip to offer a range of compact excavators.
It adds to AdvanceQuip’s range of Case Construction, ASV Posi-Track, IVECO Astra off-highway trucks and Earthworm attachments.
The exclusive agreement will initially offer New Zealand buyers a selection of models between 1.7 and 5.5-ton variants.
They will come with a mix of ROPS canopy or A/C cab, arrive ready to work with quick-hitch plus up to four buckets, emergency stop system, anti-drop valves, dual auxiliary hydraulics and power-angle blade, depending on the specific model chosen.

Engines across the range are Kubota and Yanmar, fully supported by a four year/4000hrs warranty.
AdvanceQuip managing director Steve McLean says the first shipment should arrive in August with the final units of the initial order landing in October.
With compact excavators now accounting for over 50% of total machines sold nationwide, the growth in the market provides an excellent opportunity to expand AdvanceQuip’s brand portfolio, he says.
“Having sent one of AdvanceQuip’s directors to review the XCMG line-up in Australia earlier this year and getting fantastic feedback on the build quality, we decided to make this an integral part of AdvanceQuip’s business,” McLean says.
AdvanceQuip is currently putting the new range through their strict New Product Introduction process, which includes assessing and committing to scheduled service, maintenance, and critical for operation parts holding, as well as service and technical training to ensure maximum customer uptime when in the field. An XCMG products page will be available at advancequip.co.nz in due course.
“We had no interest in a product that would not fit seamlessly into our amazing line-up of globally respected brands and based on everything we have seen, XCMG will be more than fit-for-purpose, with the added benefit of being one of the most cost competitive minis on the NZ market,” McLean says.
AdvanceQuip was founded in 2004 and is a heavy machinery and attachment supplier and distributor based in Gore with branches in Auckland and Christchurch. It’s the number one supplier of compact track loaders in New Zealand.
XCMG was founded in 1943 and has grown considerably over recent years, recently recording an annual revenue of US$15.1bn.
It boasts a broad and diverse range of products, including the manufacturing of mining, construction, paving and compaction equipment, as well as highway trucks, cranes, drill rigs, and crushing-screening units.
The company’s growth is reflected in its increasing number of global manufacturing plants, with sites in the US, Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Brazil and India. Its research and development department boasts over 6000 employees, including over 2000 industry-leading experts from China, US, Germany and Japan.
