One of these is the arrival of the iconic Unimog into the commercial market for the first time, through Mercedes Benz New Zealand.

We speak to Daimler Truck and Bus NZ senior manager Pieter Theron about the special truck and the positive feedback it received from potential customers at the Fieldays launch.

Scania also showcased its new generation truck range in New Zealand for the first time. The models are based on more than NZ$3 billion in investment and development from the Swedish manufacturer over 10 years.

TransportTalk speaks with CablePrice commercial vehicle national sales manager Mike Davidson about the new Scania range and the S-series cab in particular.

The July edition also features insurance and finance in the heavy vehicle industry. This includes UDC’s take on current market conditions in the heavy vehicle and machinery sector, along with a new truck finance scheme launched by Heartland Bank and Hino Distributors NZ.

We speak with Eamon O’Connor, director of specialist transport and trucking insurance brokerage O’Connor Warren, about the rising costs of premiums for heavy vehicle operators.

Credit One New Zealand manager Lani Fogelberg also talks to us about the finance options available for people in the transport industry.

Plus, transport leaders talk about the fuel tax legislation, Titan supplies Tower Cranes New Zealand and the EVworld NZ conference features heavy vehicles.

And don’t forget to take a look at our regular columns and statistics pages that keep you up-to-date with the latest industry trends.
