An Iowa man’s drink-driving might have escaped attention – had he not been found with a young zebra and a parrot in his truck.
The man was arrested outside a bar in Dubuque, Iowa, on Sunday night, where police found the animals on the front seat of his vehicle.
Officers arrested Jerald Reiter, 56, of Cascade, as he drove away from a bar, after testing indicated he was above the legal driving limit in the state.
Kcrg.com reports that Reiter and his girlfriend, Vickey Teters, treated the animals like their kids and often took them for rides.
