Isuzu Trucks NZ is rolling out the first customer deliveries of its new N Series range with the models now arriving into the country.

The light-duty truck has been revamped with a suite of new safety features which Isuzu NZ hopes will help keep the brand’s strong overall market lead which it has held for 21 years.

Select models in the range now feature a new additional warranty cover, taking the total warranty period to five years/ 250,000km warranty at no extra cost.

Isuzu Trucks NZ general manager Dave Ballantyne says the new N Series range marks a “significant step forward” for the brand.

“It represents the safest range of Isuzu trucks ever available to our customers, and the new additional warranty enhances peace of mind and offers substantial benefits from a cost-of-business perspective.

“The light-duty segment is fiercely competitive and now, with the new N Series, we’re in a position to offer a well-specified, safety-orientated new model to owners and drivers who desire a reliable and manoeuvrable vehicle.

“It’s a versatile performer which shines in the city and excels at around-town FMCG delivery duties, as well as a variety of other applications such as traffic management, tipper and local freight distribution.”

The N Series features a number of technologies new to the brand and this comes under the Isuzu Intelligent Safety Suite.

It includes the advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) package consisting of electronic vehicle stability control (EVSC), advance emergency brake system (AEBS), distance warning system (DWS), lane departure warning system (LDWS), as well as hill start assist on some models.

A standout feature of Isuzu’s ADAS system is the dash-mounted dual optical sensor camera which is the very first time this has been included on an Isuzu truck.

This feature comes as standard on NMR, NPR, NQR cab-chassis and tipper models. The camera is mounted low in the centre of the windscreen so as not to obstruct driver visibility.

The dual cameras provide a wide area of coverage and it is designed to detect three-dimensional objects at close range, making it ideal for applications operating in urban environments such as in and around driveways and city streets, where there is greater likelihood of pedestrians and road-going hazards.

The N Series range has three proven and reliable powertrain options consisting of a 3.0-litre four-cylinder and a pair of 5.2-litre four-cylinder engines for two-wheel and four-wheel drive applications.

None of the engines require Adblue and neither of the larger capacity engines need regeneration, which helps to reduce downtime and improve cost efficiency.

The interior of the N Series has also been updated with the cabin sporting a new lighter-colour headliner, complemented by a darker dash and seat trim which results in the feeling of a more spacious environment.  The new upholstery also offers a degree of added fire resistance.

New automatic headlights further enhance the all-round experience and feature a levelling function, especially useful when transporting a heavy load during inclement weather or at night.  LED low-beam headlights now provide for improved illumination, delivering a wider, brighter and deeper beam compared with Halogen lights.

“These updates are the first of many which will appear across a number of forthcoming models in the Isuzu Truck range,” Ballantyne says.

“In addition to N Series, we’re on the cusp of some exciting and significant developments for the brand and look forward to being able to deliver a comprehensive new truck range with higher levels of specification and technology to Isuzu customers in New Zealand.”

The new N Series is now available for viewing and ordering at all of the 11 Isuzu Master Truck Dealers around the country.
