Entries have opened for the 2025 Australasian Fleet Champions Awards, which recognise organisations and individuals committed to improving fleet safety across the region.

Road safety charity Brake, the organiser of the annual awards, has confirmed fleet and driver safety solutions firm AutoSense as this year’s headline sponsor.

The awards are part of Brake’s Global Fleet Champions initiative and celebrate excellence in managing road risk in work-related driving.

Brake New Zealand director Caroline Perry says she’s “delighted” to have AutoSense on board as the headline sponsor.

“Their passion for road safety and history of working with fleet operators to help them manage road risk aligns very well with Brake’s work.”

AutoSense chief executive Charles Dawson says the awards provide an important platform to support road safety across both sides of the Tasman.

“At AutoSense, improving fleet and driver safety is at the core of everything we do.

“Supporting the Fleet Champions Awards is a natural extension of our commitment to helping businesses on both sides of the Tasman put driver safety and wellbeing at the heart of their operations.

“We’re proud to stand alongside Brake to celebrate organisations that share our dedication to safer journeys for all.

“These awards spotlight the changemakers in fleet safety — the innovators, the advocates, and the everyday heroes who are making a difference on our roads. We’re proud to champion their efforts,” Dawson says.

The awards are open to fleet operators and suppliers who are working to reduce road risk and vehicle-related pollution. Entry is free and open until Friday, 18 July 2025.

Winners will be announced at a dinner and awards ceremony on Thursday, October 30 in Auckland.

Award categories include:

  • Company Driver Safety
  • Fleet Safety Product
  • Road Safety in the Community
  • Safe Vehicles
  • Sustainable Journeys
  • Fleet Driver of the Year
  • Road Risk Manager of the Year
  • Outstanding Commitment to Road Safety

“Organisations with staff who drive on work purposes have an important part to play in making our roads safer,” Perry says.

“The Fleet Champions Awards are a fantastic opportunity to recognise the effort that organisations are making to reduce incidents involving at-work drivers and vehicles. I’d urge any organisation that has put measures in place to reduce their road risk to consider entering the awards or nominating someone else within the industry.”
