Hino NZ will offer the first medium truck on the market here with stability control a standard feature.
Vehicle Stability Control in the Wide Cab 500 trucks could be a real life-saver – and the stats back it up.
NZTA research says around a third of heavy vehicle accidents involve rollovers, and the system senses loss of traction and automatically stabilises trucks by applying braking to each wheel to regain control.
“New Zealand has some very tricky road conditions, and errors are easily made,” says Hino general manager Micahel Doeg.
“Vehicle Stability Control helps ensure that small mistakes don’t become deadly ones, for our drivers and for others on the road.”
The Wide Cab safety suite includes ABS, an anti-slip regulator, driver airbag, and R29-rated cabin strength as standard, and microphone-enable reversing cameras are optional.
